PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device that allows a driver to recognize in short time a direction in which a steering wheel should be steered, and further even when the driver steers the steering wheel, allows the driver to recognize whether a direction of the wheel at that time is the direction in which the wheel should be steered.SOLUTION: The electric power steering device comprises: a steering wheel operating device 35 that applies torque to a steering wheel clockwise and counterclockwise; a vibrating device 39 that vibrates the steering wheel; and an on/off control device 36 which stops vibration caused by the vibrating device 39 when a steering direction indicated by a steering direction signal of a steering direction determining portion 32 and a steering direction detected by a steering torque detecting device 26 are identical, and if the directions are not identical, stops the vibration by the vibrating device 39 when the steering direction indicated by the steering direction signal of the steering direction determining portion 32 and an oscillating direction of the steering wheel by the steering wheel operating device 35 are identical and causes the vibrating device 39 to vibrate the steering wheel when the steering direction and the oscillating direction are not identical.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
