PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus and a measuring method capable of improving reliability of biological information.SOLUTION: A measuring apparatus 10 for measuring biological information by causing a region to be examined to come in contact with a contact part 14 includes a storage part 15 for storing specific information on a living body of a subject capable of identifying the subject, an authentication sensor 11 for acquiring authentication information on the living body of the subject that authenticates the subject, from the region to be examined coming in contact with the contact part 14, a light source 21 for emitting measuring light, a light receiving part 22 for receiving scattering light of the measuring light from the region to be examined, a biological information generation part 17 for generating biological information based on the output of the light receiving part 22, and a control part 16.
