PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive derived from renewable plant resources for nonuse of fossil resources, especially, an adhesive having excellent adhesion performance while achieving simplification of a production process and reduction in cost by saving a prior resinification step using lignophenol derived from plant resources.SOLUTION: The present invention provides an adhesive in which lignophenol is dissolved in an alkaline aqueous solution. The adhesive contains 25 pts.mass or more of lignophenol with respect to 100 pts. mass of the total of the lignophenol and alkaline aqueous solution, and has a pH of 10.3 or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
