PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure which enables a high-quality image where the effect of flicker is reduced to be acquired in continuous shooting while inhibiting a decrease in frame speed.SOLUTION: An image pickup device comprises: exposure means 107 for performing exposure of an image pickup element according to imaging instructions; detection means 111 for detecting the peak timing of flicker; switching means of switching peak synchronization exposure (first exposure) for performing an exposure operation by the exposure means 107 synchronously with the peak timing of flicker detected by the detection means 111 and normal exposure (second exposure) for performing an exposure operation by the exposure manes 107 independently of the peak timing of flicker detected by the detection means 111; and compensation means for compensating for an imaged image captured by the normal exposure. The switching means switches between the peak synchronization exposure and the normal exposure on the basis of the peak timing of flicker detected by the detection means 111.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
