METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REPORTING BUNDLE CAPABILITIES BETWEEN CONTROLLER AND NETWORK EQUIPMENTS

Disclosed is a technique related to a method and an apparatus for notifying bundle capabilities between a controller and a network device. A bundle capability notifying method performed by a controller in software defined networking comprises the steps of: transmitting a status check request message to a network device in order to check a serviceable function of the network device; and receiving a state check response message including information about bundle capabilities from the network device in response to the state check request message. Therefore, the controller may previously identify a bundle capability of the network device in a capability negotiation step, and may direct the network device to operate within a range of a capability that can be handled by the network device, thereby avoiding errors that may occur in bundle processing, in advance.
