PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that can be reduced in height.SOLUTION: An optical scanner 12 forms an electrostatic latent image by irradiating a plurality of image carriers with light. The optical scanner 12 comprises a plurality of cleaning holders 51. Each of the cleaning holders 51 includes a holding part 51a for holding at least two cleaning members 53. Each of the cleaning holders 51 is connected to a linear member 54. The linear member 54 is circularly stretched to a cover part 12c, and is circularly moved by the driving force of a drive part 55. In association with the circular movement of the linear member 54, a plurality of the leaning members 53 slide respectively on corresponding transmissive members 52. Each of the cleaning holders 51 is connected to the linear member 54 at the center part of the holding part 51a in its extension direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
