PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photosensitive body that exhibits excellent electrical characteristics.SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photosensitive body includes a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer is either a multi-layer type photosensitive layer or a single-layer type photosensitive layer. The multi-layer type photosensitive layer includes a charge generating layer that contains a charge generating material, and a charge transport layer that contains a charge transport material, an electron acceptor compound and a binder resin, where the layers are laminated on each other such that the charge transport layer is the foremost. The single-layer type photosensitive layer contains the charge generating material, the electron acceptor compound and the binder resin.
