PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the intrusion of water into an oil seal of a crankshaft due to the immersion of an oil pan in the water, with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A main journal 7 of a crankshaft 4 is rotatably held in a bearing portion 9 of a cylinder block 2. An oil seal 16 is fitted into one end portion 12 of the crankshaft 4, and the oil seal 16 is held and supported by oil seal holding ribs 17 and 18 formed integrally in the cylinder block 2 and an oil pan 3 from outside. A rotating-body-side water sealing rib 19 facing the oil seal holding ribs 17, 18 is provided integrally in a flywheel 13, and an annular water seal portion 20 that is a narrow gap is formed between the oil seal holding ribs 17, 18 and the rotating-body-side water seal rib 19.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
