PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress overheat at the center part of a transmission surface of a liquid crystal panel.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 100 includes: a liquid crystal panel 3 that transmits light from a light source; a transparent member 2 that covers at least the center part of a light transmission surface of the liquid crystal panel 3, is provided in contact with at least one side of the transmission surface, has higher thermal conductivity than that of the liquid crystal panel 3, and transmits light; and a heat sink 1 that is provided in contact with the ends of the transparent member 2 and has higher thermal conductivity than that of the transparent member 2. A heat generated at the center part of the transmission surface of the liquid crystal panel 3 is conducted to the heat sink 1 through the transparent member 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
