PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve high-speed durability performance.SOLUTION: Provided is a method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire 1 including a belt layer 7 constituted by a ply laminate 7A and an edge cover 7B using a molding drum 20. The molding drum 20 includes a lateral drum 22 that has a bladder 25 which may expand radially outward to exceed an outer circumferential surface of a central drum 21. The bladder 25 is partitioned into a limitation region 27 in which radially outward expansion is limited to a restricted range, and a non-limited region 28 in which the bladder 25 may expand radially outward to exceed the restricted range. A belt layer forming step includes a step of causing part of the non-limited region 28 to expand inward in a drum axis direction by expansion of only the non-limited region 28 to exceed the restricted range, thereby folding back a squeeze-out portion 42 of the edge cover 7B radially inward to be bonded radially outward of the ply laminate 7A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
