PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tensioner excellent in attaching work efficiency, which is capable of preventing jumping-out of a plunger during shipment or attaching work to an engine body.SOLUTION: In a ratchet type tensioner 20, a ratchet shaft 36 penetrates a housing body, and the ratchet shaft 36 has an engagement pin 42 at a base end of the ratchet shaft 36 protruded from an outside face 23. An engagement pin insertion hole 43 is formed at a position of the housing body which is opposed to the engagement pin 42 when rack teeth are engaged with ratchet teeth. When the tensioner 20 is attached to an engine body 1, by pushing an attaching face 22 of the tensioner 20 against an attachment part 1a of the engine body 1, a tip end 36a of the ratchet shaft 36 protruded from the attaching face 22 is retracted and the engagement pin 42 is drawn out of the engagement pin insertion hole 43, so that engagement of a plunger 31 is released. As a result, work for releasing holding of the plunger 31 is eliminated and excellent attaching work efficiency can be attained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
