PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite consisting of spherocrystal calcite-type calcium carbonate and hydroxy-apatite.SOLUTION: A calcium carbonate composite 1 consists of a calcite-type calcium carbonate 2 having a spherocrystal structure and hydroxy-apatite layer 3 formed on the outer periphery of the calcite-type calcium carbonate. A production method of the calcium carbonate composite 1 includes: a carbonation step of adding carbon dioxide gas to an aqueous suspension of calcium hydroxide; and a dripping step of dripping phosphoric acid or a phosphate solution to a slurry solution of the calcite-type calcium carbonate 2 that is obtained in the carbonation step and has the spherocrystal structure. The hydroxy-apatite layer 3 is formed on the outer periphery of the calcite-type calcium carbonate 2 having the spherocrystal structure.EFFECT: The calcite-type calcium carbonate is high in slipperiness owing to the structure in which the hydroxy-apatite layer covers the calcite-type calcium carbonate having the spherocrystal structure and facilitates imparting dry and moist feelings when added to e.g. cosmetics.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
