The present invention relates to a producing method of poly(trimethylene terephthalate). According to the method of the present invention, poly(trimethylene terephthalate) with a low content of toxic byproducts, such as acrolein, can be produced even without a separate additive. The producing method of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) comprises the steps of: forming an esterification product; forming a poly(trimethylene terephthalate) prepolymer; and forming poly(trimethylene terephthalate) through polycondensation of the prepolymer.
