PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay device, communication system, communication method, and program that can adjust the balance between increase in a use period in a portable information terminal including a mobile router, and a period a radio interface high in power consumption is used.SOLUTION: A relay device 10 according to the present invention comprises: a communication unit 11 for communicating with a communication device 20; a communication unit 12 that is lower in power consumption than the communication unit 11 when communicating with the communication device 20; a storage unit 13 for storing information on the operation time of the relay device; a determination unit 14 for determining whether or not a battery residual reaches a prescribed threshold value if communication is performed using the first communication unit until the operation time passes; and a selection unit 15 for selecting whether or not communication with the communication device 20 is performed using any of the communication unit 11 or the communication unit 12 using the determination result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
