PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel image processing art for generating image data on the heart where coronary arteries are reflected more extensively than before while making the positional relation between the cardiac muscle and the coronary arteries.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes an acquisition part and an extraction/composition part. The acquisition part acquires form volume data as image data three-dimensionally showing the form of the heart of a subject, and functional image data on the heart of the same subject. The extraction/composition part generates coronary artery volume data by three-dimensionally extracting the region of the coronary arteries from the form volume data, and generates composite image data where at least part of the coronary artery volume data and cross-sectional image data obtained from the functional image data are combined.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
