PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for checking whether an emergency power supply, such as a battery, is normal, without causing wasteful start-up of a load such as an engine.SOLUTION: A power unit for supplying power from an emergency power supply (8) to a load (4) at the time of electric outage of a system power supply (6) includes a power supply switching section (10) for supplying power from the system power supply or emergency power supply to the load, and a control section (12) for controlling the power supply switching section to supply the load with power from the emergency power supply in place of the system power supply, when a predetermined time elapses from a reference moment in time, and the load is started, to determine the active state of the load by the emergency power supply.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
