PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can reduce, with relatively simple configuration and control, a problem in which photodegradation of an image carrier is accelerated by static elimination light emitted from a static elimination light source.SOLUTION: A static elimination light 8 eliminates a surface potential of a photoreceptor drum 1 (image carrier) after a transfer process and before a cleaning process, with a static elimination light in which direct radiation to the photoreceptor drum 1 is restricted by a light shielding member 48, the static elimination light entering and being reflected on a recording medium P fed from a transfer nip part (transfer position) and a transfer guide plate 46 (guide member) guiding the recording medium P after the transfer process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
