The present invention relates to an apparatus for evaluating a contribution degree of a fault current. The apparatus for evaluating the contribution degree of the fault current comprises: an input unit which receives information on a configuration and a connection of a plurality of generators, a plurality of reactive power compensators, and a power transmission and transformation equipment, which constitute a power system; a setting unit which sets a fault current generating source and a fault point as evaluation targets in the plurality of generators and the plurality of reactive power compensators, and sets a size and a phase of a terminal voltage corresponding to the plurality of generators and a making capacity corresponding to the plurality of reactive power compensators; an analyzing unit which calculates an inflow current caused by each of the fault current generating source, the inflow current flowing into the fault point set through the setting unit; and an evaluating unit which evaluates a contribution degree of the fault current caused by each of the fault current generating source with respect to the fault point, based on the inflow current calculated through the analyzing unit.
