PROCESS OF PREPARING A PHOTOCATALYST OF TITANIA WITH ACTIVATED CARBON

The utility model relates in general to the process of preparing a photocatalyst that effectively remove large molecular-sized organic dyes from colored wastewater but more particularly to a process of preparing an immobilized photocatalyst composition of a composite of activated carbon and TiO2. The catalyst produced by the present utility model with 1:1600 AC/NanoTiO2 (5 pcnt -10 pcnt AC loading) was found to be the best catalyst. The optimum conditions has 90 pcnt color removal for Turquoise blue dye while 86.40 pcnt color removal was observed for photocatalytic treatment of actual textile wastewater.
