A PHOTOCATALYST OF TITANIA WITH ACTIVATED CARBON

The utility model relates in general to a photocatalyst used in photocatalytic reactor that effectively remove large molecular-sized organic dyes from colored wastewater but more particularly to an immobilized photocatalyst composition of a composite of activated carbon and TiO2. Using the recirculating photocatalytic reactor and AC/nanoTiO2 (5-10 pcnt AC loading) which has high efficiency than other catalyst prepared, the optimum conditions established below has 90 pcnt color removal for turquoise blue dye while 86.40 pcnt color removal was observed for photocatalytic treatment of actual textile wastewater.
