PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device for controlling an own vehicle, capable of suppressing unnecessary acceleration and deceleration.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device 1 acquires an inter-vehicular distance from an own vehicle to a first preceding vehicle preceding the own vehicle running just ahead of the own vehicle (S110, S120), and acquires an acceleration difference representing a difference between an acceleration of the first preceding vehicle and an acceleration of a second preceding vehicle running ahead of the first preceding vehicle (S130). The vehicle control device 1 sets a target inter-vehicular distance representing a target value of an inter-vehicle distance between the own vehicle and the first preceding vehicle so as to suppress a change in a velocity of the own vehicle in response to the acceleration difference (S140), and outputs a command to control the own vehicle so that the inter-vehicular distance between the own vehicle and the first preceding vehicle is equal to the target inter-vehicular distance (S150).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
