PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device that can reduce the difference in sensitivity of phase difference pixels between a center portion and a peripheral portion of a light receiving area without reducing the image quality of pickup images.SOLUTION: A solid-state image pickup device has plural normal pixels, plural right phase difference pixels 42a and plural left phase difference pixels in a light receiving area on which an image of a subject is formed. The normal pixels isotropically receive incident light. The right phase difference pixels and the left phase difference pixels having openings which are located to be eccentrically shifted to the right side and the left side respectively, and selectively receive light arriving at the right side and light arriving at the left side out of the incident light. The area of the opening 56R of the right phase difference pixels 42a at the left-side peripheral portion 11bL of the light receiving area is larger than that at the center portion 11a and the right-side peripheral portion 11bR. Conversely, the area of the opening of the left phase difference pixels at the right-side peripheral portion 11bR of the light receiving area is larger than that at the center portion 11a and the left-side peripheral portion 11bL.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
