The invention relates to firearm ammunition, to smooth barrels and also to rifled barrels. A caliber shell with a rigid mounting to the housing of stabilizing fins, plates of which continue to the housing, thus centering the shell within a barrel. In the proposed variant, approximately 1% of firing energy is lost to friction and heat, and vibration is minimal. The remaining energy, which is a rather large amount, serves the intended purpose. There is practically no wear on the barrel. The use of the shell in smooth and rifled barrels greatly extends the service life of the barrels themselves. The use of fin-stabilized shells allows for increasing initial speed, and, in a variant with a sleeve/nozzle in which the action of a second shell is initiated following that of the main shell, additionally allows for significantly increasing the speed of the shell. Aerodynamic and gyroscopic effects additionally allow for increasing the casualty-producing effect at large distances by means of more energy conserved, and also allow for improving firing accuracy and the horizontality of the trajectory. |
