A composition and a medicinal product for reducing body weight and body fat, and a use of said product. The composition contains a green tea extract and a turmeric extract, the weight percent of the green tea extract and of the turmeric extract respectively being 30% to 75% and 20% to 55% of the total weight of the composition. In animal testing where obesity is induced either prior to or during testing, use of the composition of the present invention leads to a more significant reduction of body weight and body fat than when using only a plant extract or the commercially available obesity-reducing drug Orlistat.
