The present invention relates to the field of communications. Provided in an embodiment of the present invention are a video play method, media device, player and multimedia system for continuously playing video fragments in any format, the method comprising: searching at least one media server for each video fragment of a video to be played; respectively acquiring play information, address information and a decoding parameter of each video fragment; according to the play information of each video fragment, determining available video fragments and a sequence thereof for continuously playing the video to be played, and according to the sequence, generating a playlist comprising the address information and decoding parameter of each available video fragment; and sending the playlist to a player, such that the player finds the available video fragment according to the sequence and the address information, and utilizes the decoding parameter to decode and play the available video fragment. |
