Provided are an access network congestion status reporting method, a congestion information update processing method, and a device. The access network congestion status reporting method comprises: an RCAF entity obtains a network area managed by the RCAF entity; in one of the following situations, the RCAF entity reports RUCI carrying congestion status indication information to a PCRF entity, the congestion status indication information being used for indicating that the congestion status of a UE is uncongested: the network area is a congested area and the RCAF entity determines that the UE has moved out of the congested area; the network area is an uncongested area and the RCAF entity determines that the UE is located in the network area. The problem that it is not possible for the PCRF to know the true congestion status etc. of the area in which the UE is located is solved, enabling the PCRF to know the true status of the PCRF. |
