The invention relates to a method for dyeing keratin fibres, in particular human hair, in which after applying and allowing a foam-type pre-treatment agent (M1) with oxidation dyeing pre-products to react, a dye (M2) is applied directly and and is allowed to react without rinsing. By carrying out said method, hair can be coloured in a dyeing step and simultaneously multi-tonal dyeing with highlights or lowlights is achieved.
