Disclosed are an image sensor capable of realizing vivid colors and a method for manufacturing the same. The disclosed image sensor includes: a photoelectric conversion layer; a color filter comprised on the photoelectric conversion layer; a low refractive index layer comprised on the color filter; a light dividing unit included in the low refractive index layer; and a lens layer which is comprised on the low refractive index layer and covers the light dividing unit. The light dividing unit is arranged in a diagonal direction of a pixel region of the color filter. The light dividing unit can be arranged in a diagonal direction of a red sub pixel and a blue sub pixel included in a unit pixel in the image sensor.
