According to various embodiments, a method for providing information of an access point (AP) in an electronic device may comprise the following operations of: generating AP additional information; generating a beacon message including the AP additional information; and transmitting the beacon massage including the AP additional information. The method for providing AP information in an electronic device can be implemented through various embodiments. The purpose of the present invention is to enable information of a corresponding AP to be confirmed without access to the corresponding AP by receiving AP additional information from the AP.
