A method for inspecting an oil-filled electrical apparatus is provided by which the oil-filled electrical apparatus can be inspected for the occurrence of electrical discharges therein with higher accuracy than conventional methods. This inspection method for oil-filled electrical apparatuses is a method for inspecting an oil-filled electrical apparatus for the occurrence of electrical discharges therein. The inspection method comprises: a gas-in-oil analysis step in which the insulating oil being used in the oil-filled electrical apparatus is analyzed for gases contained therein, the gases being hydrogen gas and one or more gases selected from the group consisting of methane, ethane, ethylene, acetylene, C3-4 hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and nitrogen; a step in which the insulating oil is analyzed, regardless of the occurrence of electrical discharges, to determine a substance causative of hydrogen evolution in the insulating oil; and a step in which whether electrical discharges are occurring or not is determined on the basis of the analytical results of the gas-in-oil analysis step and of the step for analysis for a causative substance. |
