[Problem] To reduce the processing costs of a position detector with regard to correlation operations. [Solution] This position indicator (1) is provided with: a code string generating unit (12) that generates a first code string that has periodic autocorrelation properties; and a transmission data generating unit (16) that, at a prescribed time interval, periodically generates and transmits a plurality of fixed-length frames that each have the first code string in the lead position thereof. The present invention can thereby reduce the processing costs of a position detector with regard to correlation operations because, after performing a correlation operation to detect the first code string once, the position detector can predict the timing of the next arrival of the first code string and does not need to continue to perform correlation operations to detect the first code string. |
