PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device that can prevent heater crack during overrun when abnormal temperature rise occurs to a heater.SOLUTION: An image heating device includes: a heater 203 that has a substrate 203a and a heat element 203b formed on the substrate and generated heat by energization; an energization blocking member 206 that operates upon abnormal temperature rise of the heater and blocks the energization; and a thermal conductive member 207 that has a higher thermal conductivity in the thickness direction of the substrate than that of the substrate, and is provided between the energization blocking member and the substrate, and the image heating device heats a toner image T formed on a recording material P with the heat of the heat element. The contact area of the thermal conductive member and the substrate is larger than the contact area of the thermal conductive member and the energization blocking member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
