The present invention prints more appropriately while suppressing problems such as blocking when using a configuration in which a medium is wound after printing. Provided is a printing device 10 that prints on a medium 50, said printing device 10 comprising: a print head that forms an overcoat layer 104 upon the medium 50; an after heater 36 that heats the medium 50 on which the overcoat layer 104 has been formed; and a winding roller 42 that serves as a medium-winding part for winding the medium 50 that has been heated by the after heater 36. The after heater 36 heats the medium 50 such that the temperature of the overcoat layer 104 reaches a temperature equal to or higher than the glass-transition point, and the winding roller 42 winds the medium in a state in which the temperature of the overcoat layer 104 has been reduced to a temperature lower than the glass-transition point.
