PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a passive scan mode.SOLUTION: An IEEE802.11 access point includes: a receiver configured to receive a request of a neighborhood report from a station associated with the access point; a timing information device configured to create a neighborhood report including the timing information to be associated with a first beacon signal transmitted by other acces point, where the timing information includes the indication of time difference between a second beacon signal transmitted by the access point and a first beacon signal transmitted by other access point, and the time difference is the offset of timing unit; and a transmitter configured to transmit the neighborhood report including the timing information to a station, in response to the request of neighborhood report.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
