PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a recording apparatus, which enables a long target transported while being supported along a transport route to be securely put into a stretched state along the transport route, and to provide a recording apparatus.SOLUTION: There is provided a control method for a recording apparatus including support means for supporting a target, recording means, a first drive roller around which the target is wound, a second drive roller around which the target is wound. When the target is transported, the first drive roller is driven by rotation amount control, the second drive roller is driven by torque control based on first through fourth management torque values, the fourth management torque values T1, T2, T3,and T4 are set to be lower than the first management torque value T1 applied when transportation of the target is stopped, the second management torque value T2 is set to be higher than the first management torque value T1, and the third management torque value T3 is set to be higher than the first management torque value T1 and lower than the second management torque value T2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
