According to one embodiment, an information processing apparatus detects a current configuration of the apparatus from a first configuration in which the body is attached to a device includes a keyboard and a second configuration in which the body is separated from the device and transmits state data indicative of the detected configuration to a server. The server selects a first virtual desktop environment, based on the state data, from a first virtual desktop environment capable of delivering a first virtual desktop image for the first configuration and a second virtual desktop environment capable of delivering a second virtual desktop image for the second configuration, and executes the virtual desktop environment using a first virtual machine. |

the information processing apparatus comprising: a body comprising a touch-screen display; and a first processor configured to: execute a process to detect a current configuration of the information processing apparatus from a first configuration in which the body is attached to a device comprising a keyboard and a second configuration in which the body is separated from the device; and execute a process to transmit state data indicative of the detected configuration to the server, and the server comprising a second processor configured to select a virtual desktop environment, based on the state data, from a first virtual desktop environment capable of delivering a first virtual desktop image for the first configuration and a second virtual desktop environment capable of delivering a second virtual desktop image for the second configuration, and execute the virtual desktop environment using a first virtual machine. |
