A unitary, plastic fastener (111) such as a cable tie for releasably securing a harnessed bundle to a automotive panel comprises a strap (113), a pawl (115) and an insert fastener (117). The insert fastener (117) includes a platform (151), a U-shaped support member (159) formed onto the rear surface of the platform, and a pair of opposing, resilient, panel retention wings (161) pivotally connected to the support member. Each wing includes a bar-shaped release arm (171) at its distal end that projects through a central opening (157) formed in the platform (151). In this manner, the fastener is designed for intact removal from a panel to which it is coupled even when access to the fastener is limited from one side of the panel. |
