The present invention relates to a velocity interface apparatus capable of checking integrity and a method for checking integrity. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the velocity interface apparatus capable of checking integrity comprises: a pulse generation unit to generate a pulse signal for checking integrity; a switch unit to selectively output an electric signal provided by a velocity sensor and the pulse signal provided by the pulse generation unit; a noise removal unit to remove noise from a signal outputted by the switch unit to generate a square wave pulse signal; a pulse counting unit to count the square wave pulse signal outputted by the noise removal unit; a velocity calculation unit to calculate a velocity based on a number of pulses counted by the pulse counting unit; and a control unit to determine whether the velocity calculated by the velocity calculation unit corresponds to a prescribed velocity based on the pulse signal to check integrity when the switch unit outputs the pulse signal provided by the pulse generation unit.
