PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass that has a high refractive index and high liquid phase viscosity without including a large amount of expensive rare earth oxides and others.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a glass with a high refractive index which has a glass composition containing, by mass%, SiO+AlO+BO: 30.5-80%, MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO: 10-60%, BaO: 4-40%, TiO+ZrO: 0-20%, and PO: 0.01-15%, and has a refractive index (n) of 1.51-2.0. The present invention provides a glass with a high refractive index which does not substantially comprise PbO or alkali metal oxides. The present invention provides a glass with a high refractive index which has a liquid phase viscosity of 10dPa s or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
