PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging system and a packaging method useful for extending storage life of food such as fresh fish.SOLUTION: A packaging system and a packaging method useful for extending storage life of food such as fresh fish are disclosed. The packaging system and method can be used for conveying or storing food over a long period of time. The packaging system preferably adopts a high upper space and a flexible structure, and can use a fuel cell to maintain a reduced oxygen level in a high carbon dioxide environment that surrounds food. A method useful for extending storage life of food such as fresh fish is also disclosed. The method can be used for conveying or storing food over a long period of time. The method preferably uses a low oxygen gas source for maintaining a reduced oxygen level in an environment that surrounds food.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
