PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stainless steel that exhibits high resistance to corrosion by waste ash even if contents of Mo and Ni are reduced, as Mo and Ni are favorable for securing corrosion resistance but expensive.SOLUTION: The stainless steel has a component composition satisfying, in mass%, C: more than 0% to 0.030% or less, Si: more than 0% to 2.0% or less, Mn: more than 0% to 2.0% or less, P: more than 0% to 0.045% or less, S: more than 0% to 0.03% or less, Cr: 22-27%, Ni: 17-21%, O: more than 0% to 0.02% or less, Al: 0.001-0.05%, Mo: 0% or more to 1.0% or less, and N: 0.06 to 0.3%, with the balance being iron and unavoidable impurities, and also satisfying the following formula (1): Cr+3Si+70 N-400C≥24.0, where Cr, Si, N, and C represents a content of each element in steel by mass%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
