PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer which can smoothly peel a mountless label stuck on a platen roller or a rolling-in preventive member, and which can reduce the occurrence frequency of jamming.SOLUTION: A thermal printer includes a thermal head and a platen roller 14 for performing printing while holding and conveying a mountless label. In printing operation, the thermal printer conveys the mountless label in an opposite direction and then conveys the mountless label in a normal direction to perform printing. The thermal printer further includes an upstream side rolling-in preventive member 21 which is provided upstream of the platen roller 14 and has a downstream side end edge 211 arranged close to the peripheral surface of the platen roller 14. The downstream side end edge 211 is formed as an inclined line having an approach distance to the peripheral surface of the platen roller 14 varied in a width direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
