Separate portions of organopolysiloxane gums and rubbers preliminarily cured by high energy radiation are welded together by being placed in intimate contact and subjected to further high energy radiation. The process may be used to integrate a winding of a silicone rubber tape around a conductor or to form built-up objects, e.g. vascular grafts, from differently shaped pieces. The products are free from curing catalyst residues. The usual fillers may be incorporated. |
