摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for manufacturing aqueous hypochlorous acid for efficiently and safely manufacturing the aqueous hypochlorous acid having a desired concentration suitable for sterilization by a small-sized apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing the aqueous hypochlorous acid is composed of a water storage chamber 2, a housing chamber 3 housing an electrolytic cell 4 receiving the supply of dilute hydrochloric acid to generate chlorine gas and having no diaphragm between both negative and positive electrodes and a mixing pipeline 9 for mixing the chlorine gas from the electrolytic cell 4 with the water in the storage chamber 2 to form the aqueous hypochlorous acid. The mixing pipeline 9 is composed of a circulation pipe 9A and a mixing pipe 9B and the circulation pipe 9A is formed into a U-shape to be provided in the housing chamber 3. One end part of the circulation pipe 9A is connected to the bottom surface of the storage chamber 2 and the outer end part thereof pierces through the bottom surface of the storage chamber 2 to be connected to the storage chamber 2.
