PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for suppressing deterioration of a discharge lamp.SOLUTION: A device for driving a discharge lamp comprises: a discharge lamp lightening part supplying an AC to the discharge lamp to supply a power between two electrodes of the discharge lamp and lighten the discharge lamp; an inter-electrode voltage detection part detecting an inter-electrode voltage at the time when a predetermined power is supplied between the two electrodes; and a power feeding condition switching part switching power feeding by the discharge lamp lightening part, between a first power feeding condition and a second power feeding condition different from the first power feeding condition so as to have a predetermined hysteresis on the basis of the detected inter-electrode voltage. Each power feeding condition is switched by changing at least one of a frequency of the AC, a duty ratio of the AC, a modulation pattern of the frequency, and a modulation pattern of the duty ratio. |
