A power conversion device that outputs voltages, which correspond to an output voltage command, to output terminals in each switching cycle, and comprises: a DC power source which has (2n+1) (n is an integer of 2 or more) output terminals; an AC power source, one end of which is connected to an intermediate potential terminal of the DC power source; a half-bridge circuit which has (2n+1) input terminals and one output terminal, and is connected to the DC power source; and a bidirectional switch which is connected between the other end of the AC power source, and the output terminal of the half-bridge circuit. The power conversion device selects: the voltage (first voltage) that is equal to or greater than the output voltage command, and is closest to the output voltage command, from among the (2n+1) level DC voltage, and the AC power source voltage; and the voltage (second voltage) that is equal to or less than the output voltage command, and is closest to the output voltage command, from among the (2n+1) level DC voltage, and the AC power source voltage. The power conversion device outputs the first voltage, and the second voltage alternately within the switching cycle. |
