The invention relates to a folding door, the mechanism of which is realized by means of two hinge strips, which form a flexible connection between an upper cover and the access door. The access door is longitudinally supported in a cylindric joint by means of pins in a Bosch profile groove which is present on both sides. This can be designed in such a way that the access door does not protrude in any position. Thus, the geometric design of the folding door minimizes the hazard to a user from protruding parts and optimizes the size of the opening for free access. The coordination of the length of the upper cover and the height of the access door can be freely selected within a wide range, and said coordination also determines the total installation height of the folding door. Instead of a closed cover, the upper cover can also be constructed of simple guide bars. For a corresponding design, gas springs enable independent holding of the folding door in every intermediate position. The door element is preferably between 60 cm and 300 cm wide and between 50 cm and 150 cm high. Said dimensions can be achieved, because high stiffness of the entire construction is attained as a result of the guidance of the door element on both sides, for which reason the folding door can be designed to have a large area and provides a correspondingly large opening area. This enables especially good access. The folding door thus enables good access to working points, adjustment points, and intervention points within the particular system in the opened state. |
