Class 120(2) In a tension regulator for yarn or roving unwinding from a package of the kind which is pendulously and rotatably mounted on a creel member, and has a bar brake 15 pivotally mounted in a member 6 fixed against the creel member 1 and formed, adjacent its lower end, to bear against the package 11, the end 17 of the bar brake forms a guide for the unreeling yarn etc; the bar brake being heavy and preferably oriented so that the yarn &c. leaves the guide substantially radially with respect to the package. A bolt 4 clamps the mounting member and a dust cap 6 to the creel member 1 and is formed at its extremity to act as the lower race for the bearing on which the package rotates. The bar brake comprises a portion 14 received in one of the ears 12 on the mounting member, an outwardly and downwardly extending portion 15, an approximately horizontal portion 16 which bears against the package and an end portion bent into a guide loop with an open side 18 to facilitate threading and a side 19, against which the yarn &c. bears in its passage from the package. |
