The present invention relates to a junction box having the function of detecting temperature for monitoring a solar cell module, wherein the malfunction diagnosis of the solar cell module for conducting photovoltaic power generation can be conducted by using information on heat generation instead of the detection of a voltage and an electric current. Also, the present invention relates to a solar cell module monitoring device including the same junction box and to a monitoring method thereof. The junction box comprises: a bus bar part including one or more bus bars having one end connected to the cell columns of a solar cell module; a connection terminal part connected to the other end of the bus bars; an output power line part connected to the connection terminal part to output power generated by the solar cell module; a by-pass diode part composed of by-pass diodes for connecting bus bars to one another; a case part for containing the connection terminal part and the by-pass diodes; a temperature sensor part for detecting an operation temperature inside the case part at fixed periods during the operation of the solar cell module; and a junction box communication part for converting the operation temperature detected by the temperature sensor part into a temperature detection signal and outputting the temperature detection signal to an external malfunction diagnosis part. Therefore, a monitoring function for diagnosing malfunction can be given easily to a solar cell module without a monitoring function for diagnosing malfunction as the malfunction of the solar cell module can be determined depending on a change in temperature inside the junction box during the operation of the solar cell module.
