The present invention relates to a technique for estimating vertical distribution of electron density of the ionosphere by using a GNSS and a finite element method and a system thereof. The technique calculates vertical electron density distribution of the ionosphere in real time or a post-processing mode based on a plurality of total electron capacity information of the ionosphere generated in a GNSS dual frequency receiver.
